It also serves as a reagent for selective oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides. Further, it is involved in the preparation of Dragendorff reagent and used as a TLC stain. Tungsten carbide powder (chemical formula: WC ) is a chemical compound (specifically, a carbide ) containing equal parts of tungsten and carbon atoms.
