Nickel Silicide Powder: The reaction between SiC with chemically plated nickel on its surface has been investigated. X-ray analysis gave a good number of lattice parameters for Ni 3Si, a = 0.3522nm, and has good agreement with the index. The surface layer of Ni diffuses into the SiC and exothermically forms Ni 3Si in a defined temperature range, producing free carbon which could be deleterious to the properties.

A reaction is evident at temperatures 900°C and 1350°C with an increasing trend. The mechanism of sintering which is shown to be a reaction sintered transient-liquid phase method was determined by thermal analysis and metallographic techniques. The strength, hardness, and density properties of sintered Ni /Al (Liquid) + SiC composites are also reported.

Niobium boride Powders having NbB, NbB2, and Nb3B4 phases in various amounts and single-phase NbB powders were successfully synthesized by using powder metallurgy methods from related metal oxide raw materials in the presence of a strong reducing agent. Nb2O5, B2O3, and Mg powder blends were milled at room temperature by a high-energy ball mill for a different time. Subsequently, an undesired MgO phase was removed from the milled powders by HCl leaching to constitute NbB–NbB2–Nb3B4 as final products, and they were subjected to an annealing process at 1500 °C for 4 h to observe probable boride transformation. Characterization was carried out by XRD, DSC, PSA, SEM/EDX, TEM, and VSM.

The effects of milling time (up to 9 h) on the formation, microstructure, and thermal behavior of the final products were investigated. The reduction reaction took place after milling stoichiometric powder blends for 2 h. Nano-sized NbB–NbB2–Nb3B4 powders in high purity were obtained in the absence of any secondary phase and any impurity via mechanochemistry by milling for 5 h and leaching with 4 mol/L HCl. After annealing, pure and nano-sized NbB–NbB2–Nb3B4 powders transformed to a single NbB phase without leaving behind NbB2 and Nb3B4 phases.

Our standard Sputtering Targets for thin film are available monoblock or bonded with planar target dimensions and configurations up to 820 mm with hole drill locations and threading, beveling, grooves and backing designed to work with both older sputtering devises as well as the latest process equipment, such as large area coating for solar energy or fuel cells and flip-chip applications. Niobium Titanium Aluminum Alloy Spherical Description:

Titanium alloys are alloys that contain a mixture of titanium and other chemical elements. Such alloys have very high tensile strength and toughness (even at extreme temperatures). They are light in weight, have extraordinary corrosion resistance and the ability to withstand extreme temperatures.

However, the high cost of both raw materials and processing limit their use to military applications, aircraft, spacecraft, bicycles, medical devices, jewelry, highly stressed components such as connecting rods on expensive sports cars and some premium sports equipment and consumer electronics.

Although "commercially pure" titanium has acceptable mechanical properties and has been used for orthopedic and dental implants, for most applications titanium is alloyed with small amounts of aluminium and vanadium, typically 6% and 4% respectively, by weight. This mixture has a solid solubility which varies dramatically with temperature, allowing it to undergo precipitation strengthening. This heat treatment process is carried out after the alloy has been worked into its final shape but before it is put to use, allowing much easier fabrication of a high-strength product.

Generally, beta-phase titanium is the more ductile phase and alpha-phase is stronger yet less ductile, due to the larger number of slip planes in the bcc structure of the beta-phase in comparison to the hcp alpha-phase. Alpha-beta-phase titanium has a mechanical property which is in between both. Titanium dioxide dissolves in the metal at high temperatures, and its formation is very energetic.

These two factors mean that all titanium except the most carefully purified has a significant amount of dissolved oxygen, and so may be considered a Ti–O alloy. Oxide precipitates offer some strength (as discussed above), but are not very responsive to heat treatment and can substantially decrease the alloy's toughness.

Many alloys also contain titanium as a minor additive, but since alloys are usually categorized according to which element forms the majority of the material, these are not usually considered to be "titanium alloys" as such. See the sub-article on titanium applications.

Titanium alone is a strong, light metal. It is stronger than common, low-carbon steels, but 45% lighter. It is also twice as strong as weak aluminium alloys but only 60% heavier. Titanium has outstanding corrosion resistance to seawater, and thus is used in propeller shafts, rigging and other parts of boats that are exposed to seawater. Titanium and its alloys are used in airplanes, missiles, and rockets where strength, low weight, and resistance to high temperatures are important. Further, since titanium does not react within the human body, it and its alloys are used in artificial joints, screws, and plates for fractures, and for other biological implants. Niobium) is a Block D, Group 5, Period 5 element with an atomic weight of 92.90638. The number of electrons in each of niobium's shells is 2, 8, 18, 12, 1 and its electron configuration is [Kr] 4d4 5s1. The niobium atom has a radius of 146 pm and a Van der Waals radius of 207 pm. Niobium was discovered by Charles Hatchett in 1801 and first isolated by Christian Wilhelm Blomstrand in 1864. In its elemental form, niobium has a gray metallic appearance. Niobium has the largest magnetic penetration depth of any element and is one of three elemental type-II superconductors (along with vanadium and technetium). Niobium is found in the minerals pyrochlore, its main commercial source, and columbite. The word Niobium originates from Niobe, daughter of mythical Greek king Tantalus. Titanium: Titanium is a Block D, Group 4, Period 4 element with an atomic weight of 47.867. Osmium Oxide is a highly insoluble thermally stable Osmium source suitable for glass, optic and ceramic applications. Osmium oxide is a volatile pale yellow solid with an acrid High Purity (99.999%) Osmium Oxide that disolves in water to form osmic acid. Oxide compounds are not conductive to electricity.

However, certain perovskite structured oxides are electronically conductive finding application in the cathode of solid oxide fuel cells and oxygen generation systems. They are compounds containing at least one oxygen anion and one metallic cation.

They are typically insoluble in aqueous solutions (water) and extremely stable making them useful in ceramic structures as simple as producing clay bowls to advanced electronics and in light weight structural components in aerospace and electrochemical applications such as fuel cells in which they exhibit ionic conductivity.

Metal oxide compounds are basicanhydrides and can therefore react with acids and with strong reducing agents in redox reactions. Osmium Oxide is also available in pellets, pieces, sputtering targets, tablets, and nanopowder (from Nanochemazone nanoscale production facilities). Palladium is a chemical element with the symbol Pd and atomic number 46. Palladium, platinum, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium form a group of elements referred to as the platinum group metals (PGMs). They have similar chemical properties, but palladium has the lowest melting point and is the least dense of them.

More than half the supply of palladium and its congener platinum is used in catalytic converters, which convert as much as 90% of the harmful gases in automobile exhaust (hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen dioxide) into less noxious substances (nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water vapor). Palladium is also used in electronics, dentistry, medicine, hydrogen purification, chemical applications, groundwater treatment, and jewelry. Palladium is a key component of fuel cells, which react hydrogen with oxygen to produce electricity, heat, and water.

The most extensive deposits have been found in the norite belt of the Bushveld Igneous Complex covering the Transvaal Basin in South Africa, the Stillwater Complex in Montana, United States; the Sudbury Basin and Thunder Bay District of Ontario, Canada, and the Norilsk Complex in Russia. Recycling is also a source, mostly from scrapped catalytic converters. The numerous applications and limited supply sources result in considerable investment interest.

Palladium Rhodium Dispersion used as catalysts for proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), for industrial synthesis of nitric acid, reduction of exhaust gases from vehicles and as catalytic nucleating agents for synthesis of magnetic NPs. NPs can act as catalysts in homogeneous colloidal solution or as gas-phase catalysts while supported on solid state material. The catalytic reactivity of the NP is dependent on the shape, size and morphology of the particle.

One type of platinum NPs that have been researched on are colloidal platinum NPs. Monometallic and bimetallic colloids have been used as catalysts in a wide range of organic chemistry, including, oxidation of carbon monoxide in aqueous solutions, hydrogenation of alkenes in organic or biphasic solutions and hydrosilylation of olefins in organic solutions.

Colloidal platinum NPs protected by Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) were synthesised and their catalytic properties measured. It was determined that they were more active in solution and inactive when phase separated due to its solubility being inversely proportional to temperature

Through the control of percent composition of 2–5 nm platinum nanoparticles on SiO2, Zhang et al. modeled distinct absorption peaks attributed to platinum in the visible range, distinct from the conventional SPR absorption. This research attributed these absorption features to the generation and transfer of hot electrons from the platinum nanoparticles to the semiconductive material.

The addition of small platinum nanoparticles on semiconductors such as TiO2 increases the photocatalytic oxidation activity under visible light irradiation. These concepts suggest the possible role of platinum nanoparticles in the development of solar energy conversion using metal nanoparticles. By changing the size, shape and environment of metal nanoparticles, their optical properties can be used for electrontic, catalytic, sensing, and photovoltaic applications

  Description: Two-dimensional black phosphorus is an emerging material. For the past two years, black phosphorus has attracted the attention of the scientific community due to its promising applications in electronic devices and biosensors. In this work, black phosphorus nanoparticles (BPNPs) derived from a facile, one-step synthesis method were successfully employed as nanofluorophores in the development of a fluorescent sensing platform for DNA detection, for the first time. This detection strategy exploits the differences in affinities of labelled single-stranded and double-stranded DNA oligonucleotides towards spontaneous self-assembly with black phosphorus nanoparticles. A wide linear detection range with good linearity (r = 0.91) spanning from 4 pM to 4000 pM was achieved with the constructed nanosensor, including the ability to distinguish triple nucleotide polymorphism. Moreover, high sensitivity was also demonstrated with a low limit of detection (LOD = 5.9 pM) and limit of quantification (LOQ = 19.7 pM). This paper demonstrates a proof of concept that black phosphorus possesses promising potential for bio sensing applications, in particular as DNA nanobiosensors, and the reported findings would be significant in encouraging further research work into the development of biomedical devices and technologies based on black phosphorus.   Please email us for the customization. Phthalocyanine Nano Powder is a large, aromatic, macrocyclic, organic compound with the and is of theoretical or specialized interest. It is composed of four isoindole units linked by nitrogen atoms. H2Pc has a two-dimensional geometry and a ring system consisting of 18 π-electrons. The extensive delocalization of the π-electrons affords the molecule useful properties, lending itself to applications in dyes and pigments. Metal complexes derived from Pc2.The conjugate base of H2Pc, are valuable in catalysis, organic solar cells, and photodynamic therapy. Phthalocyanine and derived metal complexes (MPc) tend to aggregate and, thus, have low solubility in common solvents. Benzene at 40 °C dissolves less than a milligram of H 2Pc or CuPc per liter. H 2Pc and CuPc dissolve easily in sulfuric acid due to the protonation of the nitrogen atoms bridging the pyrrole rings. Many phthalocyanine compounds are, thermally, very stable, and do not melt but can be sublimed. CuPc sublimes at above 500 °C under inert gases nitrogen, CO Substituted phthalocyanine complexes often have much higher solubility. They are less thermally stable and often can not be sublimed. Unsubstituted phthalocyanines strongly absorb light between 600 and 700 nm, thus these materials are blue or green. Substitution can shift the absorption towards longer wavelengths, changing color from pure blue to green to colorless (when the absorption is in the near-infrared). There are many derivatives of the parent phthalocyanine, where either carbon atoms of the macrocycle are exchanged for nitrogen atoms or the peripheral hydrogen atoms are substituted by functional groups like halogens, hydroxyl, amino, alkyl, aryl, thiol, alkoxy and nitrosyl groups. These modifications allow for the tuning of the electrochemical properties of the molecule such as absorption and emission wavelengths and conductance.

Platinum Cerium Oxide Dispersion Description:

Platinum nanoparticles are typically synthesized either by the reduction of platinum ion precursors in solution with a stabilizing or capping agent to form colloidal nanoparticles, or by the impregnation and reduction of platinum ion precursors in a micro-porous support such as alumina. Some common examples of platinum precursors include potassium hexachloroplatinate (K2PtCl6) or platinous chloride

Different combinations of precursors, such as ruthenium chloride (RuCl3) and chloroplatinic acid (H2PtCl6), have been used to synthesize mixed-metal nanoparticles[9] Some common examples of reducing agents include hydrogen gas (H2), sodium borohydride (NaBH4) and ethylene glycol (C2H6O2), although other alcohols and plant-derived compounds have also been used.

As the platinum metal precursor is reduced to neutral platinum metal, the reaction mixture becomes supersaturated with platinum metal and the Pt0 begins to precipitate in the form of nanoscale particles. A capping agent or stabilizing agent such as sodium polyacrylic acid or sodium is often used to stabilize the nanoparticle surfaces, and prevents the aggregation and coalescence of the nanoparticles.

The size of nanoparticles synthesized colloidally may be controlled by changing the platinum precursor, the ratio of capping agent to precursor, and/or the reaction temperature. The size of the nanoparticles The size of nanoparticles synthesized onto a substrate such as alumina depends on various parameters such as the pore size of the support. Platinum nanoparticles can also be synthesized by decomposing Pt2(dba)3 (dba = dibenzylideneacetone) under a CO or H2 atmosphere, in the presence of a capping agent.

The size and shape distributions of the resulting nanoparticles depend on the solvent, the reaction atmosphere, the types of capping agents and their relative concentrations, the specific platinum ion precursor, as well at the temperature of the system and reaction time.

Platinum nanoparticles of controlled shape and size have also been accessed through varying the ratio of polymer capping agent concentration to precursor concentration. Reductive colloidal syntheses as such have yielded tetrahedral, cubic, irregular-prismatic, icosahedral, and cubo-octahedral nanoparticles, whose dispersity is also dependent on the concentration ratio of capping agent to precursor, and which may be applicable to catalysis.

The precise mechanism of shape-controlled colloidal synthesis is not yet known; however, it is known that the relative growth rate of crystal facets within the growing nanostructure determines its final shape.

Lanthanum is a chemical element with the symbol La and atomic number. It is a soft, ductile, silvery-white metal that tarnishes slowly when exposed to air and is soft enough to be cut with a knife.
