Titanium Nitride Powder Description: 

Depending on the substrate material and surface finish, TiN will have a coefficient of friction ranging from 0.4 to 0.9 against another TiN surface (non-lubricated). Titanium nitride is also produced intentionally within some steels by the judicious addition of titanium to the alloy. TiN forms at very high temperatures because of its very low enthalpy of formation, and even nucleates directly from the melt in secondary steelmaking. It forms discrete, micrometre-sized cubic particles at grain boundaries and triple points, and prevents grain growth by Ostwald ripening up to very high homologous temperatures, Titanium nitride has the lowest solubility product of any metal nitride or carbide in austenite, a useful attribute in micro-alloyed steel formulas.

Titanium Nitride Powder Application:

  1. Used as diamond tools, metal-ceramic, high-temperature alloy additives.
2 Titanium nitrides is an extremely hard ceramic material, often used as a coating on titanium alloys, steel, carbide, and aluminum components to improve the substrate’s surface properties.
  1. Applied as a thin coating, TiN is used to harden and protect cutting and sliding surfaces, for decorative purposes (due to its golden appearance), and as a non-toxic exterior for medical implants. In most applications a coating of less than 5 micrometres (0.00020 in) is applied.
  2. Though less visible, thin films of TiN are also used in microelectronics.
  3. Due to their high biostability, TiN layers may also be used as electrodes in bioelectronic applications like in intelligent implants or in-vivo biosensors that have to withstand the severe corrosion caused by body fluids.
  4. TiN electrodes have already been applied in the subretinal prosthesis project as well as in biomedical microelectromechanical systems.

Titanium dioxide occurs in nature as the minerals rutile and anatase. Additionally, two high-pressure forms are known minerals: a monoclinic baddeleyite-like form known as kaolinite, and the other is an orthorhombic α-PbO2-like form known as brookite, both of which can be found at the Ries crater in Bavaria is mainly sourced from ilmenite ore.

This is the most widespread form of titanium dioxide-bearing ore around the world. Rutile is the next most abundant and contains around 98% titanium dioxide in the ore.

The metastable anatase and brookite phases convert irreversibly to the equilibrium rutile phase upon heating above temperatures in the range of 600–800 °C.

Titanium dioxide has eight modifications in addition to rutile, anatase, akaogiite, and brookite, three metastable phases can be produced synthetically (monoclinic, tetragonal, and orthorhombic), and five high-pressure forms (α-PbO2-like, baddeleyite-like, cotunnite-like, orthorhombic OI, and cubic phases)

Titanium Phosphide Description

In its metallic form, titanium is both strong, lightweight, and highly resistant to corrosion. Thus it can be found in numerous aerospace and military applications. It is used to produce a white pigment. Brief Description Of Titanium Sponge:

Titanium is a chemical element with symbol Ti and atomic number 22. It is a lustrous transition metal with a silver colour, low density, and high strength. Titanium is a Block D, Group 4, Period 4 element with an atomic weight of 47.867. The number of electrons in each of Titanium's shells is [2, 8, 10, 2] and its electron configuration is [Ar] 3d2 4s2. The titanium atom has a radius of 147 pm and a Van der Waals radius of 187 pm.

Titanium was discovered by William Gregor in 1791 and first isolated by Jöns Jakob Berzelius in 1825. In its elemental form, titanium has a silvery grey-white metallic appearance. Titanium's properties are chemically and physically similar to zirconium, both of which have the same number of valence electrons and are in the same group in the periodic table. 

Titanium has five naturally occurring isotopes: 46Ti through 50Ti, with 48Ti being the most abundant (73.8%). Titanium is found in igneous rocks and the sediments derived from them. It is named after the word Titanos, which is Greek for Titans.

Zirconium:

Zirconium is a Block D, Group 4, Period 5 element with an atomic weight of 91.224. The number of electrons in each of Zirconium's shells is 2, 8, 18, 10, 2 and its electron configuration is [Kr] 4d2 5s2. The zirconium atom has a radius of 160 pm and a Van der Waals radius of 186 pm.

Zirconium was discovered by Martin Heinrich Klaproth in 1789 and first isolated by Jöns Jakob Berzelius in 1824. In its elemental form, zirconium has a silvery white appearance that is similar to titanium. Zirconium's principal mineral is zircon (zirconium silicate). 

Zirconium is commercially produced as a byproduct of titanium and tin mining and has many applications as a opacifier and a refractory material. It is not found in nature as a free element. The name of zirconium comes from the mineral zircon, the most important source of zirconium, and from the Persian wordzargun, meaning gold-like.

Important properties of WC-Co are hardness, strength, high breaking, and beating ductility as well as high electrical and thermal conductivity.

Tungsten carbide is a chemical compound (specifically, a carbide) containing equal parts of tungsten and carbon atoms.

In its most basic form, tungsten carbide is a fine gray powder, but it can be pressed and formed into shapes through a process called sintering for use in industrial machinery, cutting tools, abrasives, armor-piercing shells and jewelry.

Tungsten carbide powder (chemical formula: WC ) is a chemical compound (specifically, a carbide ) containing equal parts of tungsten and carbon atoms. Physical Properties of WC Tungsten Carbide Powder Tungsten carbide has a high melting point at 2,870 °C (5,200 °F), a boiling point of 6,000 °C (10,830 °F) when under a pressure equivalent to 1 standard atmosphere (100 kPa), the thermal conductivity of 110 W·m−1·K−1, and a coefficient of thermal expansion of 5.5 µm·m−1·K−1. Tungsten carbide is extremely hard, ranking about 9 on Mohs scale, and with a Vickers number of around 2600. It has Young’s modulus of approximately 530–700 GPa, a bulk modulus of 630–655 GPa, and a shear modulus of 274 GPa. It has an ultimate tensile strength of 344 MPa, the ultimate compression strength of about 2.7 GPa and a Poisson’s ratio of 0.31. Chemical Properties of WC Tungsten Carbide Powder There are two well-characterized compounds of tungsten and carbon, WC and tungsten semi abide, W2C. Both compounds may be present in coatings and the proportions can depend on the coating method. At high temperatures, WC decomposes to tungsten and carbon and this can occur during high-temperature thermal spray, e.g., in high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) and high energy plasma (HEP) methods.

Tungsten Diselenide Description

Tungsten diselenide is an inorganic compound with the formula WSe2. The compound adopts a hexagonal crystalline structure similar to molybdenum disulfide. Every tungsten atom is covalently bonded to six selenium ligands in a trigonal prismatic coordination sphere while each selenium is bonded to three tungsten atoms in a pyramidal geometry.

The tungsten–selenium bond has a length of 0.2526 nm, and the distance between selenium atoms is 0.334 nm. Layers stack together via van der Waals interactions. WSe2 is a very stable semiconductor in the group-VI transition metal dichalcogenides.

The hexagonal (P63/mmc) polymorph 2H-WSe2 is isotypic with hexagonal MoS2. The two-dimensional lattice structure has W and Se arranged periodically in layers with hexagonal symmetry. Similar to graphite, van der Waals interactions hold the layers together, however the 2D-layers in WSe2 are not atomically thin.

The large size of the W cation renders the lattice structure of WSe2 more sensitive to changes than MoS2. In addition to the typical semiconducting hexagonal structure, WSe2 exists in another polymorph, a metallic octahedral coordination phase 1T-WSe2 based on a tetragonal symmetry with one WSe2 layer per repeating unit. The 1T-WSe2 phase is less stable and transitions to the 2H-WSe2 phase.WSe2 can form a fullerene-like structure.

Tungsten's hardness and high density give it military applications in penetrating projectiles. Tungsten compounds are also often used as industrial catalysts.

Tungsten is the only metal from the third transition series that is known to occur in biomolecules that are found in a few species of bacteria and archaea. It is the heaviest element known to be essential to any living organism.

However, tungsten interferes with molybdenum and copper metabolism and is somewhat toxic to more familiar forms of animal life.

Tungsten Titanium Carbide Powder Description:

 Titanium carbide, TiC, is an extremely hard refractory ceramic material, similar to tungsten carbide. It has the appearance of black powder with the sodium chloride (face-cantered cubic) crystal structure.

As found in nature its crystals range in size from 0.1 to 0.3 mm. It occurs in nature as a form of very rare. The mineral was named after Ibrahim director of Geology and Geophysics of Tashkent.

Titanium carbide is used in the preparation of cermets, which are frequently used to machine steel materials at high cutting speed.

It is also used as an abrasion-resistant surface coating on metal parts, such as tool bits and watch mechanisms.

Titanium carbide is also used as a heat shield coating for atmospheric reentry of spacecraft. 7075 aluminum alloy (AA7075) is almost as strong as steel but weighs one third as much.

Acetylacetonates are commonly used in various catalysts and catalytic reagents for organic synthesis, including the fabrication of various shapes of carbon nanostructures (as demonstrated by a 2013 experiment by researchers at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden) via the use of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and laser evaporation techniques.

Ytterbium Bromide Hydrate is a chemical element with the symbol Yb and atomic number 70. It is the fourteenth and penultimate element in the lanthanide series, which is the basis of the relative stability of its oxidation state.

However, like the other lanthanides, its most common oxidation state is as in its oxide, halides, and other compounds. In aqueous solution, like compounds of other late lanthanides, soluble ytterbium compounds form complexes with nine water molecules.

Because of its closed-shell electron configuration, its density and melting and boiling points differ significantly from those of most other lanthanides.
